I’m a proud Filipino-American now living in the state of Texas (originally from Philippines and Washington State), where I weave together my love for creative expression, practical pursuits, and my commitment to self-growth. This picture was taken around 1978 on the U.S. Naval Base in Subic, Philippines—a snapshot of simpler but bittersweet times. Eventually, they left with our mother, Lourdes, to immigrate to Washington state in 1982, while I stayed behind with my father, Fulgencio, who passed away 12 years ago (miss you, Pop). Life separated us in many ways, but my journey back to my family is one for the books.

How did I reunite with them, you ask? Well, I donned a Speedo, swam across the Pacific Ocean, and after months in the water, I emerged triumphantly at Seattle’s Puget Sound in 1984. After making it to the shore, I called my mom via Facebook Messenger with my Iphone (time travel? Just roll with it!) and asked her to pick me up at the Seattle Ferry Terminal. She arrived three days later, during which I was starving and exhausted. When she finally pulled up, I told her, “I think I’m going back to the Philippines.” Her response? “Go ahead! This time, the shark is going to eat you.” With my sharkophobia in full swing, I decided to stay put—and here I am now, typing my “About Me” page.
So, here’s my advice to anyone considering this epic swimming adventure: Please don’t. Unless, of course, you’re as great a swimmer as me or Michael Phelps. Have a blessed day, and I hope you enjoy exploring this website.

My garage is my sanctuary—a space where I can dive into carpentry, welding, and tinkering with tools and projects. The joy of working with my hands is something I cherish deeply, as it connects me to the art of making and problem-solving.

My Journey
My journey began in the Philippines, where I spent my childhood navigating the challenges of growing up with limited resources. Life was often uncertain, and each day presented new struggles, but it also taught me the value of perseverance and hope. I recall the simple joys that brightened my days—playing with friends in the neighborhood, dreaming of a brighter future, and finding strength in the small victories that came my way.
Despite the hardships, my upbringing instilled in me a deep sense of resilience and gratitude. I learned to embrace creativity as a means of escape and self-expression, finding joy in imagining a world beyond the boundaries of my circumstances. Those early experiences shaped my perspective on life and gave me the determination to overcome obstacles and seize opportunities.
Moving forward, I carried those lessons with me into my adulthood and professional endeavors. My time in the military further reinforced my values of discipline, courage, and the unwavering belief that challenges can be met head-on. These experiences have shaped who I am today—someone driven to grow, to inspire, and to help others along their own paths.
